Get a website designed and developed with not only customers
. . .
in mind but also search engine
spiders. Unfortunately most website designers don’t know the difference
between a keyword and a keystone.
As you probably know, you can increase your web
site traffic significantly with the use of good website design. But you
can also decrease it just as easily if you are not careful with your
design choices.
We
spend a lot of our time with clients on trying to overcome the obstacles
that traditional website designers have inadvertently creating on their
websites - obstacles that are keeping them from gaining new customers.
We have seen it all, and it’s not very pretty. From a lack of keyword
rich copy to an internal linking structure that runs customers in
circles, most designers create a pretty picture but that’s about it.
There is usually little thought given to search-engine optimization
The
following are the internet marketing services that come FREE with your
website design from Internet Marketing & Design of South Florida:
These online marketing services alone would cost from $600 to $800
at other internet marketing companies.
Here are a few
other common mistakes that other web designers make:
- Lots of Flash, and Java. Search
engines usually can not scan these type of features. They need textual
content to feed on. So if you want to scare them away, display your
information within images and graphics. At the very least, images should
contain alternate text descriptions that include your keywords.
Flash content should be repeated in text form elsewhere on the page so
the search engines can ‘see’ it.
- Design Obstacles. Frames are a prime
example of design obstacles. Most people don't appreciate frames,
especially when they "trap" the user. And search engine spiders can't
follow them very well either. So your pages will not be indexed and will
not appear when people are searching for your products.
- Unclear navigation. Make it as easy as possible for visitors to
find what they are looking for on your site. There is nothing more
frustrating than trying to perform an online task (like making a purchase!)
at a website that seems determined on stopping you no matter what.
